I am a landscape artist inspired by everchanging colour, light and dramatic scenery, presented by nature as well as nocturnal settings, often in the context of a suburban landscape. I reflect on the change of the emotive response of the viewer to the same places depending on the time of day, weather, season, as well as one’s mood, imagination, narrative and personal experience. I record what I have seen and experienced, capturing local scenes that evoked in me a sense of awe, either visually and/or emotionally. I work mainly in oils, painting in a style that references Realism and Romanticism.
