Love in Bloom is a print of a beautiful bunch of flowers created by my 15-year-old daughter Sophia, who is dyslexic and AuDHD. This piece represents love, gratitude, and the special bond between a daughter and her mum. Sophia’s journey through education can be challenging, as she often struggles with expectations such as sitting still, managing emotions, expressing herself, and completing traditional exams. Despite always trying her hardest, she can feel misunderstood by a world that does not always recognise the way she learns and experiences life. During her work experience at the Print Co-op, Sophia created this piece as a way to show her love and appreciation. These are Sophia’s own words: “I wanted to make this work to say I love you so much and I’m sorry I shout, but I really love you so much I don’t know what I would do without you, you get me so much help and support.” Love in Bloom shows that even through challenges, love continues to grow.
