Glass (displayed on a cast iron griddle with a vintage kitchen utensil)

h: 6 w: 46 d: 26 (cms).

These individual eggs are the result of numerous experiments in the kiln and were created from sheet, crushed and powdered glass. Careful control of temperatures and times was required to achieve the desired texture over a sequence of firings to produce these realistic fried eggs. They are presented on a cast iron griddle, temporarily mounted for display purposes using magnets and museum gel so that, if desired, they can be repositioned or ‘served’ using the vintage spatula.

£650 (As exhibited.)
