While looking for rocky coves west of Falmouth, I came across Bream Cove. A small hidden bay reached via a delightful 300 yard easy woodland walk. The geology of the cove is of ancient slate rocks with glacial features shaped by the last Ice Age. The rock pools and tide pools are an excellent environment for marine life, with the cove being classed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to rich marine deposits and nationally rare plants. I was attracted to the bay with its deeply fissured slate rocks covered with coloured seaweeds in contrast to the rich blue tones of the sea.
