The painting has a narrative largely inspired by a movie called The Matrix. The blue pills (or berries in this case) signify blissful ignorance and conformity. The wallpaper birds in the background stay in comfortable but false simulation forgetting the truth. The Agents (crows on frozen branches on the vase) are guardians protecting this false world by handing out the blue pills.
