This piece explores the quiet beauty of childhood, a beauty that exists simply because youth itself is beautiful. As children, we rarely recognise our own innocence or worth; it is only with age that we look back and realise how precious and beautiful we truly were. If only we could return and reassure our younger selves. At the same time, the work reflects on the growing influence of social media and modern beauty culture. The pursuit of glamour and external validation begins far too early, shaping the way we perceive ourselves before we have had the chance to simply be children. Painted predominantly in cool blue hues, the composition evokes the stillness and calm of night, a fleeting moment of peace, away from the noise, comparison, and expectations of the outside world.
