Swaledale sheep are one of my favourite subjects to paint. These, in particular, comprise a compilation of images selected from a number of photographs taken over several months. I have a fascination with them and wanted them to be seen to reciprocate. I stare at them and they stare back. The landscape behind is one of my favourite views of the Landsdowne Monument and associated Cherhill white horse, a subject I have painted on countless occasions.
