David is a maker of objects. His work combines meticulous research, ludic engagement, manic humour and serious intent with high quality craftsmanship and visual panache; proposing vertiginous solutions to the questions posed by history, current affairs, film, biography, myth and religion; those problems and their inevitable concomitant, the unsatisfactory non-sequitur. His work is frequently accompanied by written texts and hand bound books. 

David is an emerging artist with a practise based in making 3D objects and book works with a focus on narratives. He recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a first in Creative Arts Practise. During the course, he won the Porthleven Prize, a 3 week fully funded residency in Cornwall, with two exhibitions attached. David held a solo show, “I forgot much more than I ever knew” in October 2024, and his degree show piece Tolle Lege was awarded a £1000 prize to commission a work for the library in the university. He is currently applying for studios to develop his practise and create a body of work with the intention of holding a solo exhibition at some point in 2026. David was born in Basingstoke, England in 1970 and worked for 25 years as a graphic designer.
