With a strong interest in botany, in-depth education in environmental science and a teaching career spanning environmental, horticultural and ‘Forest School’ education, my practical knowledge and diverse educational journey contribute to a unique perspective and creativity in botanical art. Continually developing and refining my craft, I work in watercolour, oils, ink and graphite. 

Sarah holds a Diploma with Distinction from the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) and is a Fellow of the Society. She was awarded the Certificate of Botanical Merit at the SBA’s online exhibition in 2024. This year, Sarah took on the role of Exhibition Co-ordinator for the SBA’s physical exhibition, Plantae 2025, at The Mall Galleries in London, ensuring the smooth running of the SBA’s largest and most successful exhibition in their 40th Anniversary year. At the exhibition, her artwork ‘Natural Mandala’ was recognised by The Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society with the Award for Excellence in Botanical Art and an invitation to become a member of the Society.

Sarah's drive to create and promote botanical art comes from the desire to celebrate the value and diversity of plant life and share its beauty. Sarah relishes opportunities to connect and share expertise with other botanical artists. In April 2025 she was appointed as Chair of the Florilegium Society at Sheffield Botanical Gardens, a group which strives to communicate botanical concepts and historical contexts through their growing archival collection of botanical illustrations of plants grown at Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
