Freehand Machine Embroidery on painted silk

The embroidery is based on a scene from the Peak District. Habotai silk is painted to create a basis for stitch work. Use of straight stitch and zigzag along with differing bobbin tensions and threads provide the means of portraying depth and texture within the scene
