Statement
I am an architectural abstract painter and colourist. My painting practice is shaped by a sustained engagement with architectural space, structure and the built environment.
Drawing on experience of places, travel and a long-standing fascination with buildings, I create imagined structures and off-kilter spaces in which form, spatial tension and colour become the means of constructing a sense of place. My paintings explore the line between harmony and instability, bringing together a sense of order with more intuitive and unpredictable elements.
Working primarily in oils, I develop my paintings through a process of construction, revision and paring back. I am interested in the tension between what is deliberately placed and what emerges through the act of painting, allowing recognisable architectural forms to shift into something more ambiguous. Colour is central to my process, used to establish atmosphere, rhythm and emotional weight, as well as to shape the structure of the painting itself.
I live and work in the West Country and completed an MA in Fine Art with Distinction at Falmouth School of Art in 2023. I have exhibited in selected solo and group exhibitions in the UK and abroad.

Rebecca holds an MA in Fine Art with Distinction from Falmouth School of Art. She is a member of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and has exhibited widely, with both solo and group shows in prestige galleries in London and across the UK. Her paintings are held in private collections worldwide, and she is regularly selected to exhibit in a range of open exhibitions, including the Royal West of England Academy, the Society of Women Artists, and the Bath Society of Artists.
