In my work, which is always rooted in narrative, I try to capture the fleeting moments of connection between humans and the animals who share their lives. I depict simple scenes, which are not grand or heroic but small and tender. I work in a series never knowing quite where I am heading and the characters and compositions change through a process of layering and editing.
