My work combines a lifelong passion for both horses and art in the form of paintings that express the presence of the horse. Through my paintings, I wish to capture a real sense of the physicality of the animal, the way it moves and its personality, as well as the intimacy of the relationship between human and horse. Many of my works are large scale, creating the same feeling of interaction between viewer and artwork that one might get from standing next to the live animal itself. 

In addition to this, my practice also includes a small number of abstract works, which explore textures, materials, and processes of making. They are predominantly neutral in colour as this allows the focus of the paintings to remain on the raw qualities of the materials used. Stitching is a recurring element in these paintings, and alongside this, I use a series of processes of addition and removal to create the finished piece.
