Mild steel

Burrow is made of 20 steel plates welded together into a single block. Each layer is cut by hand via a plasma cutter and layered in order to create a flowing pathway through the solid block of material. The work is inspired by mining heritage of the area I grew up in Derbyshire, as well as a fascination with deep spaces within the earth and geological formations. Burrow is left as raw untreated steel, celebrating the materials natural beauty.
