My paintings are made in oil on linen or board, a medium which allows me to represent light, shade and colour, although I also make monochromatic work in peril or charcoal.

In my current practice, my subjects are those that highlight the environmental crisis. 

The subjects of gardens and woodlands also interests me, partly because of their place within the national culture, but also because of the healing and regenerative power of green spaces. In these uncertain times, I believe we need to engage with the natural world and also to preserve it.

I graduated from Wimbledon School of Art with a degree in Theatre Design and worked for many years as a scenic artist.

Since then I have worked on murals, portraits and landscapes, exhibiting in Coventry, Banbury and Bristol. In 2018 I was the Ironstone Art Prize People’s Prizewinner.
