Vertumnus is a devotional window inspired by a sculpture with the same name, by Étienne Le Hongre, found in the gardens of Versailles. Vertumnus is the Roman god of the seasons, change, and growth, and this piece was designed and created at a time of great change and personal growth in my own life: leaving a long-term relationship, moving to a new city, and reinventing myself - turning over a new leaf, if you will. It's been made using very traditional skills and techniques, to place it at odds with the newly-built property it was originally installed in.

Part of a series of small arched stained glass pieces, based around the reclamation of the traditional imagery of Catholicism/religion vs. the historical erasure of queer identity and representation. The pieces themselves are based on the mirror selfies that you'd send to a potential hookup on Grindr/your app of choice - I want to immortalise the pictures that would usually be discarded once they've served their intended purpose, using the artistic language of saintly veneration to reframe the throwaway slutty selfies we take for validation into work glorifying queer bodies in a context within which they are rarely seen.
