I became a student of portrait drawing and painting after a career as an engineer in the energy industry. Tutored mainly at Sarum Studio, Salisbury with Nicholas Beer since 2015, I attend studio study regularly and also welcome commissions.  

Alway a decent engineering drawer, I made first my steps drawing portrait in pencil from 2008.

I have been tutored in portrait drawing and painting by Nicholas Beer at Sarum Studio Salisbury from 2015.  Time spent working at the studio alongside many gifted students, and in workshops from time to time with other portrait artists, have been the key ingredients and pleasure to my learning and development.

I've learned through persistent pratice that improvement comes with time spent. I'm pushing to stretch myself beyond a likeness and characterisation, and one day hope to achieve 'art' !
