Solstice celebrates the quiet presence of the barn owl, a species whose silent flight and ghostly beauty have captivated people for centuries. Created from hundreds of individually hand-cut and painted archival paper feathers, the life-size sculpture captures the stillness, awareness, and quiet observation that often go unnoticed in nature. Reflecting the balance between light and darkness that gives the piece its name, Solstice portrays the calm confidence of an animal perfectly adapted to life between the visible and unseen, inviting the viewer to pause and reconnect with the quieter beauty of the natural world.
